Online Film Critics Society – sebuah perkumpulan jurnalis dan kritikus film yang berbasis internet terbesar di dunia, dimana penulis At the Movies, Amir Syarif Siregar, juga tergabung di dalamnya –  baru saja mengumumkan daftar nominasi untuk The 15th Annual Online Film Critics Society Awards. Film karya Terrence Malick, The Tree of Life, memimpin daftar perolehan nominasi dengan meraih sebanyak 7 nominasi, termasuk di kategori Best Picture, Best Director (Terrence Malick), Best Supporting Actor (Brad Pitt) dan Best Supporting Actress (Jessica Chastain). Mengikuti dibelakangnya adalah Drive yang meraih enam nominasi termasuk di kategori Best Picture dan Best Director (Nicolas Winding Refn) walaupun harus gagal menempatkan aktor utamanya, Ryan Gosling, ke dalam nominasi Best Lead Actor.

Salah satu hal menarik yang dapat dilihat dari daftar nominasi The 15th Annual Online Film Critics Society Awards adalah ketidakberadaan The Help dalam jajaran nominasinya – bahkan untuk Viola Davis dan Octavia Spencer yang diduga kuat akan berhasil menarik perhatian Academy Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences untuk ajang Academy Awards mendatang. Padahal, The Help merupakan salah satu film yang banyak dijagokan menjadi salah satu kontender kuat di berbagai ajang penghargaan film yang banyak diselenggarakan di akhir tahun 2011.

Dibentuk pada tahun 1997, Online Film Critics Society telah menjadi sebuah kekuatan besar dalam menghimpun para jurnalis, kritikus dan pemerhati film dunia serta membantu meningkatkan standar jurnalisme perfilman yang berbasis media internet. Para anggota Online Film Critics Society tersebar di berbagai wilayah dunia seperti Amerika Serikat, Kanada, Amerika Latin serta di berbagai wilayah Asia Pasifik.

Para pemenang The 15th Annual Online Film Critics Society Awards akan diumumkan pada 2 Januari 2012 mendatang.
